We dream of a Christian teacher training program because we are convinced that Christian teachers can make a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
Testimonials

Rahel’s Story
“My physics teacher told the entire class that he would pray for me.”
Laura’s Story
“My music teacher recognized potential in me that I could not see in myself.”
Serena’s Story
“I am thankful that I attended a school where my teachers were Christians. There, I felt truly seen.”
Without expanding the IHL campus facilities, this project would not be possible. The accreditation council has explicitly required us to enlarge our teaching spaces to ensure high-quality educational standards.
In addition, we need start-up funding for the first three years. Qualified faculty members are required from the very beginning, while full enrollment and financial sustainability through tuition fees will only be possible after several years.
This is where the Christian teachers of tomorrow will be trained.
With your donation, you can help make the dream of Christian teacher training a reality.
Partners
Many organizations, schools, foundations, and individuals are already involved.
Teacher shortages in German schools, combined with the growing secularization of curricula, make independent Christian schools more necessary for parents and their children than ever before.
A New Opportunity
Due to a new regulation by the Ministry of Education of Baden-Württemberg, private universities can now, for the first time, train teachers for independent schools.
As IHL, we want to be the first institution in Germany to take this pioneering step.
Our response
In partnership with the Association of Evangelical Confessional Schools (VEBS), the largest organization of its kind, we have developed a unique degree program, “Theology/German with elements of German as a Second Language,” to equip future Christian teachers at IHL. This program is a step of faith, rooted in conviction.
“A good teacher does not only develop knowledge and education, but life itself. A shortage of teachers therefore means not only a lack of education, but a lack of life.”
Volker GäcklePresident, Internationale Hochschule Liebenzell (University of Applied Sciences)
“Christian schools are growing steadily. Parents are lining up to enroll their children, which means many more Christian teachers are needed.”
Wolfgang StockVEBS - Association of Evangelical Confessional Schools
„Christian faith and thinking are deeply interconnected. Those who reflect long enough inevitably encounter realities that go beyond what can be known or seen. At this point, faith becomes relevant and meaningful. Believing opens up ways of thinking and new horizons that move beyond familiar patterns and boundaries. Thinking is enriched and gains new dimensions. In education, the transmission of knowledge and competencies is always also about fostering independent thought. It is a privilege when faith is allowed to be part of that process.“

Why Christian teacher training matters to us: It equips teachers to support students holistically and to foster Christian values such as love for one’s neighbor, responsibility, and integrity. Because children need role models more than ever. And because, as a mission organization, we see it as our calling to contribute meaningfully to society.
